I was thinking more Woody Allen:

"You see this watch.

I love this watch.

My grandfather, on his deathbed,

Sold me this watch."

I'm such a dweeb. Why do I insist on sending Obama direct messages on Twitter when I know it's probably some lackey who actually handles it? Yet I can't resist calling him out for not supporting gay marriage.

I'm feeling rather domestic today. I just made some Yukon gold potato salad, and also a batch of fresh extra hot thai chili oil with garlic.

I've had really bad sinus headaches for the last couple days, making my desire to edit almost nil. So, I figure I can at least work around the home.

Disco saves lives.

Of all the songs to save lives to, wouldn't you know it'd be the one called "Stayin' Alive".

John Smith started the day early having set his Alarm clock
(MADE IN JAPAN )for 6am.

While his coffeepot (MADE IN CHINA ) was perking,

he shaved with his electric razor (MADE IN HONG KONG ).

He put on a dress shirt (MADE IN SRI LANKA),

designer jeans (MADE IN SINGAPORE)

and tennis shoes (MADE IN KOREA)

After cooking his breakfast in his new electric skillet
(MADE IN INDIA)

he sat down with his calculator (MADE IN MEXICO)
to see how much he could spend today.

After setting his watch (MADE IN TAIWAN )

to the radio (MADE IN INDIA )

He got in his car (MADE IN GERMANY )

filled it with GAS (from Saudi Arabia )

and continued his search for a good paying AMERICAN JOB.

At the end of yet another discouraging and fruitless day, checking his Computer (Made In Malaysia ),

John decided to relax for a while.

He put on his sandals (MADE IN BRAZIL)

poured himself a glass of wine (MADE IN FRANCE)

and turned on his TV (MADE IN INDONESIA),

and then wondered why he can't find a good paying job in AMERICA

Well, there's his problem: he's drinking French wine!

I just bought tickets for the as-yet-unnamed Cirque 2009 show in Montreal.

Yeah - but what's the solution. How do you buy American when there's nothing to buy?

I thought the free trade agreement was supposed to benefit us... that it would encourage other countries to buy from the US. Instead, it just seems like there's very little we here in the USA can buy from ourselves.

My Company is still producing electricity domestically, so fire up your gadgets and help feed our economy

I think the way I've always seen it is that a larger portion of the US has opted out of the manufacturing industry. Certainly, there are strongholds of manufacturing, particularly in the Midwest and Pacific Northwest, but that's mostly in the processing of food and certain manufacturing materials, but I've been under the impression that people are (generally) setting themselves up for higher education aspirations and that most people don't get their Bachelor's degree just so they can build a Barbie doll... maybe market that doll, but attaching heads notsomuch.
