Ya know, putting your sig line next to that photo could give people the wrong idea...

I think it's a sentiment a great sportsman and humanitarian like Prince Phillip would heartily endorse.

I have a great fondness for our first couple. Just thought I'd say that.

And the queen does look adorable there. You just wanna cuddle her, like that one woman in the DC projects...

edit: oh hell, it appears Her Majesty has warmed up to hugging over the decade-plus since that incident. Check out her getting all chummy with Mrs. Obama!

Okay, see, I built one of those, so it clearly is not impossibly difficult. Of course, I had access to my dad's tools, including his drill press. (and not one of those namby-pamby tabletop models, either. We're talking stand-alone metal monstrosity). Although if you do make one, rent an industrial sewing machine and change your needle way more often than you think you need to. Trust me.

Pru: therein lies the other problem :P

Then again, since I'm not in the SCA, total authenticity is not a requirement. So maybe I could make mine out of nylon :)

If you do, don't epect to spend much time in it during the day... Unless you like saunas.

It could be the Swank Camp Sweat Lodge.

You want a canvas tent. You really really do. If you like sleeping any later than 6am, canvas is your friend.

Alternatives to renting an industrial machine include buying a cheap one from the local thrift shop so that you don't cry when you kill it. (fortunately, mine was under warranty and they couldn't specifically pinpoint that I'd done anything wrong......)

Morrigoon 04-02-2009 10:56 PM

Where would one rent an industrial machine? And do they work (eg: thread) any different from regular machines?

I'm the only supervisor here in my section today. And, my manager is out. God help me.
