This just makes me sad

O and I went to see RENT (the HS version) at her school this weekend. Public kudos to her school for being bold enough to produce a controversial musical with thought provoking themes and for encouraging a bunch of upper-class kids to think outside of their narrowly defined lives (they tied the production to several charitable causes supporting AIDS/homelessness and drug addiction). I love O's school but sometimes I am so proud she belongs to such a great community which encourages the kids to think beyond themselves. :snap:

This I have learned this bright crisp morning...

The world is a larger place that one might think. Even things in your own neighborhood are more distant than expected.

My new suede coat, while the height of business casual style, is not as warm as I thought.

Change is actually good for some things.

Having a driver take you to work is really quite relaxing.

Overall, taking the bus because of car troubles, not that bad.

I really wish this were an option for me (without being a 2-1/2 hour commute with multiple bus changes.). Color me jealous!

Oh, and your estimated arrival date is still wrong (in your signature). According to my calculations, you aren't arriving until 6/14/17.

Haha, this travel show just drew a comparison between Salzberg's worship of Mozart and Memphis' Elvis mania.

Mozart... the Elvis of Austria.

This amuses me.

I'm pretty sure I saw Mozart at the 7-11 last week.

If any of our resident hockey fans are interested, I have 2 Ducks tickets available for December 14th game against Minnesota. These aren't my tickets (a friend has 2 seats and will be missing the game) and I'll be in Vegas.

Section 433, I think row E or F $32 each.

PM me if you're interested.
