With everything you've been through, I'm impressed its that low a number.

Injured doing a household chore....

I've had the palm of my hand opened wide by a cat.. still have the scar. Should have had ten stitches, but I waited too long to go in. Vaccuming was the chore.

Carrying my child, missed a step, fell, sprained both ankles. (On the way to MA)

Tried to cut off the end of my thumb with a tomato slicer at work as a teenager.
Cut the same thumb tip almost off with a large paper cutter year later. 8 stitches.

Stuck my hand in a fryer at Bob's Big Boy, going in after a tortilla shell. And fell in the prep kitchen on a spill, ripped my forearm across the plastic wrap cutter.

Hmmm.. used Sea breeze on my face as a teenager to discover it was polish remover.

I think thats all I have done in the HOME, or that counted as a chore. :)

This is a public service announcement.

Going to Trader Joes while hungry may result in a larger than planned bill.

Of course! :D I feel they are the little-used, under-appreciated, salute-to-Miami Vice emoticons. And of course, it's because they're pink. :)

Are we sharing injuries? Hmm..my brother (Smee!) once broke my collar bone, clean in half. We were playing around at my late best friend's apartment, and he was going to try to flip me like my late Grandpa used to do when I was a little girl (key phrase: little girl). I bent over, he pulled my wrists through my legs and flipped me right on top of my head, knocking me unconscious. I was fortunate I didn't snap my neck! Instead, I snapped my clavicle/collarbone, and when I came to, I was totally dizzy and couldn't move. :(

Cut to the ambulance. WHOO-OO-WHOO-OO ( <--dramatic siren sounds for effect).

One half of my collarbone was poking upward, almost piercing through my skin. I spent that lovely summer in a brace.

About 3 to 4 months later, I woke up with a pear-sized lump in my neck. I was already scheduled to have my collarbone X-Rayed, and when I went to see the Doctor, He immediately had me admitted to the hospital. I stayed in the hospital for a week, having numerous tests, completley freaked. As it turned out, while my collarbone was healing, it severed a branch off of my subclavian artery, causing internal bleeding and resulting in that lovely pear-shaped blod clot.

Today, I have a crooked left clavicle, a war wound if you will, and an enjoyable story to share at cocktail parties. Thank you, Smee. ;)

Why is it that over the last year or so I have been forgetting to zip up my zipper? It's not like I've got something to show off.

I think old age is setting in at an early age.

Prudence--Congrats on your grade and on the flamingoes! I think you also deserve some gnomes: :gnome: :gnome:
