It's Friday ya know! Woo-Hoo!

BarTopDancer 11-21-2008 12:27 PM

Gas is still a lot more than here in other countries. It always has been.

Oh. Hmm. That is interesting. Perhaps I just live in an area where there are more low income people who no matter what still can't drive? I do not see the lines like I used to.

Or, hopefully, those who do use the transit system are sticking with it?

Chula Vista is different than L.A., though. :D

LA mass transit is so horrible that most people CAN'T use it. It would take me 2.5 hours EACH WAY to take a bus to work, and I work less than 10 miles from home. Oh, ANd I'd have to walk half a mile to work from the bus stop, to,, so make it 2.75 hours each way.... As it is, I have a 35-50 minutes commute, up to an hour on Fridays. And I don't take a freeway!

Yay, it is Friday (and I played hooky yesterday) and my laptop shipped today. It's a happy day!

CoasterMatt 11-21-2008 12:52 PM

Where are you commuting to/from?

If you're in Garden Grove, that isn't Metro (LA's transit system) - so please, go talk to the fine folks at OCTA.

OC is FINALLY getting something equivalent to Metro's RAPID bus lines - their first one is supposed to be on Harbor Blvd., and there's a public hearing for that scheduled on December 8 - click here for more info.

I hope this is a direct link to it, but, if not, I wanted to share that the soap I watch, All My Children, have recruited war Vets for their latest storyline.

The main character that they've chosen, Brot, is amazing. When I first saw the show with the vets, I told my son they had to be real people.

I don't think it came out that these are real people until just a few days ago.

I love AMC.

Oh, and, they also currently are running a storyline about Bianca and her fiance, Reece. They wanted to christen their baby but the priest who came said he couldn't do it, didn't realize the two parents were both women.

Interesting how this is working out.

Oh, sure, though, a lot of the storyline is cheesy.

I might be able to work up at least some false sympathy for the oil fvkers if they hadnt been reporting record profits for multiple years in a row....Billions? yeah, screw you. let me show you the specific parts of my a$$ you can kiss

gas is too low, we need to make less..its not our fault
gas is too high....its hurricanes and uh..the war and uh...other stuff thats not our fault
comsumption is too low and folks are using smart transit...lower the price to bait em back in...pretend we didnt notice.
excellent, now theyre driving again and have made holiday plans involving travel...give em a month, then crank up the prices again.

dunno but y'all, but Im kinda tired of this game.
I think Im gonna build a big rig that runs exclusively on the blood of oil company execs.

All My Children is ok, but General Hospital is much better.

Days of Our Lives Rocks!

Or so my wife says....

And the I stumbled onto this bit of info from Soap Opera Digest

Quote:

It's the biggest soap news of the year, if not the decade: Deidre Hall and Drake Hogestyn have been let go from DAYS. In an exclusive interview in the new Digest, Executive Producer Ken Corday explains that NBC renewed the show, but at a "greatly reduced" fee that necessitates major cuts. Hall and Hogestyn are two casualties, with0;more likely to come. It's unfortunate, because DAYS is on an upswing in ratings (it's the only show that's actually improved since last year), but the rocky economy is taking its toll. "The state of NBC and DAYS is not the same as it was six months ago," laments Corday. "We're lucky that we're still on the air for 20 months, with possibly another year after that."
My wife was not happy. And if she's not happy, I'm not happy. :(
