In the Netherlands, Domino's Pizza uses electric scooters for delivery. Because they were concerned about the safety hazard of the silent ride*, they felt the need to add artificial engine noises. And they had fun with it.






* Lord knows if they actually gave a crap or just saw a good marketing opportunity, or both.

I heard on a podcast where the electric vehicles are too silent for the hearing impaired and the idea was brought up about downloadable engine tones to help the hearing impaired with traffic navigation as they stand on a street corner getting ready to cross. so it wouldn't be such a wild idea...instead of ring tones for sale, engine revs and purrs via the i-tunes store. :tiki:
