Welcome to my world, GC. Even when I'm not in production, I can't get to sleep before 1:30.

You are being produced?

I'm bored.

I should have been in bed hours ago.

You should have. Everyone was there. It was a blast.

I've started using a press pot to make coffee at work since I'm not a fan of the new brand of coffee they've brought in.

I need practice. My first 2 cups came out kinda weak. Don't know if I need to add more grounds or increase steeping time. I'm a little worried that the water that comes from the coffee machine here isn't hot enough, which might scuttle the whole operation.

I'll need some advice from the masters (€ when he returns from the mountains, or the professional, blueerica, if she's around).

Do you pre-warm the press pot? That can help too. Put warm water in the pot, then discard before you add the grounds and the water to actually make the coffee. Also, the coffee should be ground to "press pot" standards rather than for drip machines. It does make a difference.

Done on both counts.

I think it's just trial and error. I had the same issue when I was using a press pot regularly. I will be interested to see any hints Euro and E have. Didn't they post some once?

I wonder if I'm anywhere close on the grounds:water ratio. I'm using 2 heaping teaspoons for the amount of water that fits in a standard travel mug. Does that seem right?
