The room was simply stunning, although the whole night I lived in fear of the canopy somehow pulling a little too hard on the fire sprinklers and causing a catastrophe. Might I suggest finding a different solution than attaching things to the fire sprinklers next year when you recreate this, but with more grandiose accoutrement. |
Heheh, were were tempted to light the candles around all that material and drunken guests and hope for the best.
Obviously, we thought about the merits of hanging the material from our own hooks simply stickied to the ceilings or from the potentially more dangerous but firmly-affixed sprinkler units. We chose the latter. Um, sprinkler units are not all that finicky. You have to pretty much bang them with a hammer to get them to go off (or, ya know, purposefully break the little glass thingy). I use them to affix ceiling things all the time. But, oi, the peacock duct tape! Sheesh, there was an awful lot of last-minute duct tape that I would never have approved. Things became a little harried in the final hour or so. I'm glad she took it out in post-production. I think I'll get her to do that with my double chin, too. :D |
I love this room so much that I took a nice long nap in it - something I've always wanted to do in the real attraction. I think I rode Pirates about 40 times that day.

Laurie got quite a start when Captain Skell rolled over in the night, and she woke up with him staring her right in the kisser!
