K: the action shot... where the water's washing around everyone and you're laughing. I just love that shot.

Note to self: need to stop batch processing horizontal and vertical photos together, LOL.

Alas, if we keep doing it the weekend nearest Rosh Hashana, it may coincide with family stuff again and again for GD and I. :(

The more pictures I view, the more jealous I get. On the day itself I was feeling too hungry and weak to be jealous of anything! Now I'm absolutely green.

I really hope we can make it next time.

Fortunately, RH and YK zig and zag all over the calendar, while the Autumn Equinox remains constant.

There's no saying that either YK or the Eq. will fall on a weekend next year or any year. We could celebrate either whenever we want, but it loses something very important for me to pretend that, for example, Christmas is on December 28th because that was the nearest Saturday.

(And though I had some really good times, the fact that I'll put it near the top of my worst.days.ever list does not have me itching for repeats either.)

And yet you probably attend Christmas parties all through December, yes?

Well, here's hoping we all can make it to the next one! I'm also green with envy, what a spectacular swanking this was!

I agree with iSm, however, if we're going to collectively say farewell to summer equinox, then the day of (or as close to it as can be) is a must.

Definitely something to look forward to, that's for sure!

Oh, I thought the impetus for the sin throwing was your year-end deal.

innerSpaceman 09-25-2007 08:52 PM

Nope. It's done on Yom Kippur. And ONLY on Yom Kippur.

I thought Tashlich happens on the first afternoon of Rosh Hashanah. You're supposed to be praying all day on Yom Kippur...

See? I didn't even know there was a name for it.

Bad, bad jew.

You're not full blooded jew; you're jew-ish ;)
