But - last I checked, the only way to get a widescreen version of the film was on laserdisc.

Good to know. Next time I'm at Amoeba, I'll look for the LD (I still have my LD player...).

We have to invite Thurston to a screening of Milo and Otis.

What's a good pairing with that? Babe??

What about Ferngully?

As Good as it Gets. Probably the greatest movie role for a dog ever. Sure it wasn't a marquee role like Turner & Hooch or Snow Dogs, but no role has ever signaled more clearly that dogs are no longer second class acting citizens, good only for racially stereotyped comedy relief, or servants treated on screen like so much set dressing. This was a solid supporting character that just happened to be a dog, not some degrading pupsploitation film.

Movie night -> seder rituals -> boobs -> species stereotyping in film

*sigh* only on LoT

The dog in The Mask was great. But then if mousepod screened it, we'd have to watch it.
We could watch Where the Red Fern Grows the remake, which stars Dave Matthews! It's not great, but Dave's in it!

Yay! Endeadened dogs!

I still think we should watch The Magnificent Ambersons and The Third Man.

Men in Black - which I have never seen either.

Well, the Pug has a smaller role ... but yeah, that's the Thurston Howl III Double Feature alright.
