Ah, Ponine, we could be related. I was notified in the morning that I got two awards for performance last semester - and then, after Ryan offered to buy me a fruity beverage in celebration, spent the afternoon feeling like I haven't accomplished enough and don't deserve the $4 starbucks slushy thing.

Shall we beat our heads on the wall in stereo?

(On the other hand, I totally deserved my new Corolla when we got it a few years ago. Also traded up from a sentra with multiple issues. You'll love the Corolla!)

I love the new Corollas. It was next on my list if I couldn't get the price I needed on my 3. They are cute, fun, powerful and reliable little cars. Don't worry, you'll be driving that thing until it has 200,000 miles.

Haha, my parents got suckered by a car dealer.

Okay, actually, they walked away with a good deal...but still got more car than they were looking for.

They wanted the Toyota Avalon, either the touring package or the XL. So they called around and found a dealer said they had 3 (1 touring, 2 XLs). They show up, the guy walks around the lot...and can't find the cars with those packages. "Ooooh, they must be in our over flow lot. Lemme drive you over there." So they head over to Van Nuys...where they once again can't find any XLs our touring. "Well, we've got some Limiteds on the lot..." The Limited package being the highest end, of course. So my parents are hemming and hawing, when they spot a manager (if you knew my mom, you'd know that this is when the story gets good). She pulls him into the conversation and says something to the effect of, "So, we call and this guy says you've got XLs and tourings. We get here and he's trying to sell us the Limited. Ever hear of the term 'bait and switch'?"

Ding, she said the magic words. Next thing you know, they're being offered the Limited at invoice. They ended up paying below the Touring sticker for the Limited. Like I said, a good deal...but they probably would have paid less than that if they had actually found an XL or touring. Suckers.

Of course, I'll be jealous of their Nav and auto-sensing door locks.

I'm jealous of anyone with A/C. I've been dying the last few days in traffic.

So....My wife takes the kids to Peter Piper Pizza at lunch today. With her ticket winning from games, my sweet little 4 year old girl got a whoopie cushion.

She is stalking my office. Every time I get up from my chair, she runs in and places it. I then must pretend that I do not know she has and sit on it, and act surprised and playfully upset. She is quite amused by this game.

Ghoulish Delight 06-30-2006 02:54 PM

Sure, blame the gas on your 4 year old. Nice.

scaeagles 06-30-2006 02:55 PM

Trust me - it doesn't smell bad enough to be mine.

Ponine 06-30-2006 02:59 PM

Oh, mine plays that game on Grandpa. Only after about ten times, grandpa sits down hard enough that it pops.

You're telling me to break my kids new toy? Mean thing.:p
