On my unrealistically red hair (okay let's be honest, it's basically fuscia this time around)... I get quite a few compliments, but have received only two complaints. Neither complainant is under 70. That's probably a pretty solid record, yeah?

My stepmother was #2, today. Not too pleased about the backhanded dig she took. It was along the lines of "So are you going to change it before the CAR (organization my dad is involved with) dinner?"

You know, I was very seriously considering going brown soon, but suddenly I feel a lot less motivated to do so

That's like my dad asking me this (after not seeing him for several years as he lived in Oregon:

Dad "So when did you gain weight?"

Me "About the same time you lost your hair."

I didn't see him again for seven years.

Because he thought you'd eaten his hair?

You always were good at connecting the dots, Alex!

So... apparently one can paddle a kayak on two segments of the LA river now. The one below Lake Balboa is actually kind of nice and is deep enough to float comfortably. Lots of birds.

You just have to dodge the shopping carts, branches, and old cars.....;)

The coolest dog ever?

Actually, we did see a shopping cart or two. No old cars, though.

This may be my favorite "cosplay" ever!
Mutant Giant Spider Dog
It's cute, hilarious, and gently spooky.

My youngest is getting married this summer. She's decided it's going to be in the Jackson Hole area. The celebration will be on the luxe side of cowboy, according to her. Cookout - no. Cowboy band - yes.

I am deeply touched by this. Our kids went out to Wyoming with us practically every summer growing up.
