well, I spend a few hours a week in a little local dive bar in North Park, San Diego, called Buster Daly's, usually drink Amber Bock, as I did Thursday night................................tonight, to celebrate a 30th birthday of a guy I have known for 30 years, I had a few Guiness' at the Sunshine Company in Ocean Beach.

Pictures aren't necessary, though we'd all like to see 'em.

I'm hoping to have my own entry tonight!

Feeling a sense of duty, BTD & I went out for a relaxing easy night on "the town" so that we could complete our mission.

First stop, Venice Beach. But that turned out to be a no-stop after The Fuzz harshed my buzz. It was crowded, and there were cops all around. I was trying to turn down a side street, and two officers were there diverting traffic, and I thought, just helping out general traffic. But then the lady cop asks me to pull over and pointed to the shoulder of the tiny street we'd turned left onto. So I did.

The officer said, "Turn off your igntion." So I did. Then she said (something to the effect of), "Ma'am, why don't you have a front license plate?" I lied, "Oh, it just got knocked off yesterday. (I think I told you guys that a couple of weeks ago it got knocked off, right?) (Mind you, I've seen countless vehicles since with no front license plate, nor any holes where front license plates might have been, so WTF?) She asked to see it, so I turned around and dug it out of the pile of stuff in my backseat, and I took out all the pieces, and handed them to her. At that point in time, I was only thinking, What the feck's the big deal here? Why not just verify that the car is mine with my license and registration? Why the feck would not having the front license plate be worthy of blocking people behind me over?

So, she let me off with a warning, and BTD & I decided we wanted nothing more to do with Venice that day. We surface streeted it to 3rd Street Promenade at that point, walked around, had a generally lovely time, when suddenly we realized we were hungry.

So, we continued walking, and at the end of the Promenade, at Wilshire, we saw a sign for a bar/restaurant named Monsoon that said sushi. We decided it was the only thing to do, in honor of €, NA, mousepod & H in Japan...

We were greeted by a fun Buddha...

Just above our big-bellied friend, we saw a sign that said "Happy Hour 4 - 7 PM" and we knew we'd hit jackpot. We found a small table next to the bar, and proceeded to order our drinks.

And while we did take pictures of our meal, they weren't on my camera, and probably not as important to the story as our eating the "packing material" that came with the Thai Popcorn Shrimp!

YUM!!

It was a swanky trip, made even better by the heavy-loaded drinks, and good eats at a sweet price! This little jem was the best find of the day! The Fuzz, be damned!

Looks like you had fun, though, and the food looks great! Now I'm hungry.

Actually, by that point, I was on the pretty sober end of things. That straw you see there? That was sitting on plain ol' ice and the melted water...

Or maybe I was buzzed... hmmm.... ;)

Nnooooo. See how full my drink was? We took those right after we got our drinks.

And I was staring at something shiny.
