Two songs that always make me feel sad:
I Can't Make You Love Me - Bonnie Raitt The song is just so dark and beautiful, especially the vocals and Bruce Hornsby's haunting piano. Yesterday - The Beatles Simple brilliance. I'm always moved by it. Three songs that always make me feel happy: Spain - Chick Corea (with or without Al Jarreau's incredible vocals) Lester Leaps in - Charlie Parker How can you not feel happy hearing Charlie Parker play a sax. Morning Dance - Spyro Gyra Like a vacation in the tropics |
Ah, favorite songs, where to start? I love so many.
One clear favorite with a heart-felt swoon:"I Loves You, Porgy" from George Gershwin's Porgy and Bess, as sung by Nina Simone (available on The Ultimate Nina Simone). |

"So much of me is made of what I learned from you You'll be with me like a handprint on my heart And now whatever way our stories end I know you have re-written mine by being my friend" This is one of the best statements on how friendship changes our lives. |
mamabot - "For Good" - great song
"Sunchyme" by Dario G makes me happy. Always. "Last Stop" by my boyfriend Dave Matthews and his band makes my blood boil. "Neither One of Us (Wants to Be The First to Say Goodbye)" by Gladys Knight and the Pips always bums me out. "Fragile" by Sting always puts me in a relaxed mood. |

ELO, "Mr. Blue Sky" makes me happy happy, "When Somebody Loved Me", from Toy Story II makes me a bawling wreck. And listening to it with the French audio track on the DVD is practically asking for an aneury - anyueri - stroke.

I love ELO!!! (Got "Turn to Stone" running through my tiny little brain right now). I'm gonna have to burn some of their songs. (Well, Eric will, as I am clueless in that dept. Just had him burn a bunch of Queen songs yesterday).
Which reminds me- Queens 'Sail Away Sweet Sister' (I think that's the title) always makes me sad, but I love it. |
Did we know each other in high school?
