Teacher's Day and National Applesauce Cake Day. It's also the anniversary of D-Day, which they didn't list. I suppose it just doesn't have the same significance as National Applesauce Cake Day.

How about your month? My birth month is, among others, National Accordion Awareness Month, National Papaya Month and Cancer in the Sun Month. AND... it is both National Pest Control Month and Fight the Filthy Fly Month!

Does anyone know if these national holidays have to be created by act of Congress? Could I go somewhere to read the transcripts of the Congressional debate over the establishment of Fight the Filthy Fly Month?

Bastards! How soon they forget...were it not for the sacrifices of many men and women back then, we wouldn't be able to celebrate NAC Day. Unless, of course, it's a german recipe.

I wonder how they decide which kinds of cakes deserve their own days.
