I have a feeling there's a curse upon the shows because the increased amount of low-level pyro and pyro near guest areas mean that the cancellation threshold has gotten lower than ever.

I was thinking that, too .... except that upon second thought, I had to wonder why low-level pyro would cause the show to be cancelled for high level winds.

Oh, I thought it was pretty windy last night. When I was sitting on a bench in the hub, hoping against hope that the wind would die down so that my diehard Disney buddy from Michigan would be able to see the stretching room effect from optimum viewing spot. D'oh! She won't be back until the 50th is over, so she's missed them entirely!

FWIW, the fireworks went off tonight - saw them from the freeway on my drive home (a few minutes before 6:00).

Follow-up: I just checked the schedule and RDCT was scheduled for 5:45 tonight. I also saw on the site:

Take advantage of longer Park hours that let you enjoy all the magical attractions, shows and events during our 50th Anniversary Celebration!

DL (and DCA) closed at 6:00 tonight. So much for "longer Park hours."

'Tis the season for private parties...

Cast Member parties.

Disneyland has to be the only place where, when they throw the employees* a party, they do it at work.

* Yes, I know the people who work for the Mouse are Cast Members.

Boomers throws their corporate office party at the Irvine center.

Universal's employee parties are at work, too

So are Six Flags Magic Mountain's, and Knott's Berry Farm's...

Kevy Baby 12-06-2005 08:16 AM

So who runs the attractions while the Cast Members play? That would suck having to work on Cast Member night
