Well, alas and alack, I did not get the position.

They just shot me an email this morning. 'Thank you, but..."

Bleh.

I'm not as bummed as I thought I was going to be. I'm still optimistic.

The job was working in the Development Department of a marriage equality group here in Boston.

Oh well. On to the next application...

But, heck, I do appreciate all the support.

:)

So sorry to hear the news, GC. It sounds like it would have been an interesting job.

Sending positive vibes that something better will come along.

ooooh, I hear that there's a similar position just opened up .....

.... in Los Angeles.

I figured I'd be hearing that from either you or Isaac. :D

And, I tell ya, when it was 10 degrees here the other day, I was thinking about L.A.. But I was thinking about Hawai'i a lot!

The thing is is that I like Boston a great deal. It's really fun here. They're lacking in the theme park/controlled environment dept but I love big cities.

One of the consolations of not getting this job is that I may be joining Ralphie in Orlando during one of his meetings in March. I hear Disney has a couple of theme parks there...
;)

Better luck next time, GC. I'm sorry to hear you didn't get this one, but you'll find the one that's right for you.

Speaking of Boston, my dad just sent me this:

---------------------

Two boys in Boston were playing baseball when one of them was attacked by a rabid Rottweiler. Thinking quickly, the other boy ripped a board off of a nearby fence, wedged it into the dog's collar and twisted it, breaking the dog's neck.
A newspaper reporter from the Boston Herald witnessed the incident and rushed over to interview the boy. The reporter began entering data into his laptop, beginning with the headline:

Brave Young Red Sox Fan Saves Friend From Jaws Of Vicious Animal

"But I'm not a Red Sox fan," the little hero interjected.

"Sorry" replied the reporter. "But since we're in Boston, Mass, I just assumed you were." Hitting the delete key, the reporter began:

John Kerry Fan Rescues Friend From Horrific Dog Attack

"But I'm not a Kerry fan either," the boy responds.

The reporter says, "I assumed everybody in this state was either for the Red Sox or Kerry or Kennedy. What team or person do you like?

"I'm a Texas Ranger fan and I really like George W. Bush" the boy says.

Hitting the delete key, the reporter begins again:

Arrogant Little Conservative Bastard Kills Beloved Family Pet
----------------------
:D I like it.

Is it too late to send vibes! If not, consider vibes sent.

Ah, s**t. Sorry, man.

That's okay. Their loss. I'm a really hard worker. :)

Just disregard that I'm posting this at work...
