Going there and doing it - incredibly stupid.

And gee, I thought that gesture was made famous in the 80's by death rockers like Ozzy and Alice Cooper.

I thought it was daddy Bush or Michael Jackson that went to another country and gave the "V" gesture that offended them. If it was daddy bush, I guess it runs in the family.

I think Bush the elder was in Australia and gave the thumbs up, which I guess is the same as flippin the bird here. Am I recalling correctly?

dunno, but I distinctly remember a "V" as a controversy in recent current events(since I have been paying attention to the news which would be the post reagan years)
