I wasn't being entirely fair when I said Mickelson has gacked away about four majors. David Toms ripped his heart out with a clutch up and down on the 18th hole in Atlanta at the PGA and the late Payne Stewart hit an unbelievable birdie putt to avoid a playoff with Mickelson at the US Open at Pinehurst #2. So not all of Mickelson's major heartbreak has been his fault. But he does own most of it.

The leaderboard going into the weekend at the Masters is stellar. It's a nice bonus to see sexy smooth Freddie Couples in contention. Should be a great weekend at Augusta.

I would figure that with the rain yesterday requiring that the leaders play almost two full rounds today that Tiger has the advantage, primarily because he is in much better physical shape than is Phil.

And in looking at how Tiger has started today (now one shot off the lead with a 10 ft or so birdie putt on #3), I think I may be right. I'll reserve total judgement until I see Phil on the 575 yard number 2.

Tiger just missed the 10 ft birdie putt, but my analysis is not changing.

I bow to your golf prognostication skills, Sac the Greek.

The joke on tour is that Amy Mickelson's smile is real but her boobs are fake and Phil's smile is fake but his boobs are real.:D

What I was amazed by is exactly how wrong I was. Phil was the only one who didn't choke.

Tiger 3 putted 6 holes? I've never seen his irons more inaccurate in that he was almost never on the correct part of the green. Couples missed more putts under 4 feet than I've ever seen anyone miss.

I don't know why I don't like Phil Mickelson, but I don't. I just look at the guy and I have a vague dislike. But he can play golf.

Tiger three-putted twice when he had eagle opportunities within 10 feet (according to the radio I listed to on the drive home yesterday, didn't see it myself) so it sounds like it was more the putter than the irons that left him out of it. There aren't many golfers that could 3-putt six times and still put up a -2.

I've always like Fred Couples and it is good to see him playing top golf again, for however long it lasts.

That's true, and I mentioned his putting as being the biggest aspect to his second place finish.

I was thinking more of the par 3s. He was absolutely aweful on par threes for the whole tourney.

So Tiger and Phil shared a 69 at at the PGA yesterday, eh? Good for them.

Yes, it was quite scandalous.
