In 1964 Bozo came to our town as part of the annual carnival. He gave away a number of prizes, including a Water Wiggle to yours truely. My mom said he was drunk, but I loved the toys just the same.

Cool picture!

Good thing he didn't give you a Water Willie

We did not have cool toys of this nature. We used the plain ol' sprinkler.

Although we did have a croquet set. There are few more swanky outdoor games than croquet. Actually, our family still plays croquet regularly on the 4th of July in my folks backyard. We're fairly vicious - generally we prefer sending an opponent's ball off into the rockery instead of taking a bonus shot. My mom usually wins.

I used to play lawn darts with my Grandpa out on the ranch. They had this huge grass area and it was just the 2 of us. Ah - good memories.

My HS boyfriend had a high strung brother who visited the Bozo show and told Bozo to fu<k off on national television.

Bozo looks like Pennywise.

I remember hearing a similar story when I was a kid, but the saying was "Cram it, Clownie", which has since been debunked.

yeah...we didnt get those. so we once again made our own...which once my dad found, were returned to their natural state as tent stakes.

but man they were fun in the meantime. :D

So, lawn darts are outlawed but dart boards are ok?
