It's very loud. And the accomodations are....cozy. My advice is to close your eyes before they slide you back in and not open them until they slide you out. That way you can better imagine you're not where you are. It's not awful, it's just not comfortable if you don't like confined spaces.

thinking of you!

....And you have to hold your breath, too. At certain intervals. Don't forget that fun part!

Best wishes, NA, that the test results find nothing but your very healthy & charming mind inside! :)

Actually, the MRI machine does look an awful lot like the MIGHTY MICROSCOPE, doesn't it. Just imagine you are getting smaller and smaller.

Tsunami is drooling on the table next to me. I guess this is his way of sending you love and good wishes. (He's the dribbliest cat ever.)

Um....so, what exactly is going on ? (I've been off LoT for a couple weeks)

Well, by now the scan is done - I hope that all went well and that NA's head isn't being shaved.

What if they did a brain scan and found nothing?

(you'll get it eventually)

I survived the scan. It was, um, interesting. At one point, someone put a quarter in the Magic Fingers machine. I really had a difficult time trying to keep from smiling.

My guess is that there will be another MRI done with an IV that they inject something to increase the contrast. After they saw my history of medical issues the said I'd be back. So reassuring. But, no results from this one until Monday or Tuesday. I have no idea. I just love to wait for test results.

Where the hell have I been? I didn't know you had this going on! Something must be in the air, or maybe it's our age 'demographic', but I have several friends and a brother-in-law having MRI's this week and next. Maybe it's me.....

So what's the deal- why are you having this done? You've probably discussed it in a thread I missed, so feel free to point me in that direction if so. Glad this one is over for you- I know they're not so fun. :(

Not Afraid 06-16-2006 11:27 PM

Well, I only mentioned it in passing. I'm not really thinking it's a big deal until I find out it's a big deal. I've had worsening spasms on the right side of my face for about 9 months. I've gone the medication change route, the allergy route, and the chiropractor finially sent me for a MRI. It's really to make sure there's nothing else there that we should be worried about. But, I've been through the whole list of possabilities (cell phone use tumor is my latest crazed idea). But, that's why we're doing the test. Better safe than sorry with my background.

Thanks for telling me- I know you're probably sick of talking about it, but this is the first I've heard and my stomach's been a bit knotty since reading that. I'm glad they're being cautious and thorough, even if the tests are a pain. Have they considered anything along the TMJ line?
