:) Thank you all for those fond wishes. I am awfully humbled by your affection, and appreciate it so much.

I also feel terribly guilty. :( It's been quite a while since I made the miserly decision to stay out of all birthday threads. Between the various boards I post on, every day is somebody's birthday. I crumbled under the pressure of devising a clever greeting for each occassion. Then I realized that I was posting on some folk's birthdays and not others ... which might lead to unintended false assumptions about whom I like more than so-and-so.

And so ... I have not posted a well-wisher for any of the fine folks who have posted here on their birthdays. Let me take this opportunity, then, to wish you all a Very Happy Birthday ... and thank you for letting me get it over with all at once like that!:snap:

Well, I'm off to celebrate my birthday with my best friend, who happens to have her birthday tomorrow. With America's birthday being the day after, the two of us have always experienced a multi-day birthday festival that, thanks to the national holiday, always seems to fall on a "weekend" where friends are off work and available to celebrate. It's been wonderul for the past quarter century ... so tonight we are going to have dinner at the Bonaventure Hotel in downtown L.A. ... where she and I spent our first mutual birthday together exactly 25 years ago! We'll be playing in a glass elevator overlooking the city at midnight, the cusp when it's both our birthdays at once ... just as we were when I turned 21 and Laurie turned 18!

Oh my  !

Thanks again for all the kind thoughts and birthday goodness.

Thank goodness I'm not the only one who made that (hard) choice ages ago...But I wish you a HB here because here is the only place I saw a thread. [/annoyed]

Have fun!

Happiest of birthdays to an incredibly swell guy. (Who is as young as he feels.)
