I was going to suggest you shake the box or container of food. That rattling sound always brings my Illuminati out of whatever cubbyhole she's hiding in. (And she hides a lot.)

Yay!
:D |
Now I'm thirsty!
|
I'm so glad you found her.
|
So glad to hear the news! :hugs:

Editing to say, PHEW!!! Glad she's found!

Por girlie. She REALLY wants to go back outside. I'm thinking it may be her time and she's looking for a place to die. It may be time to take her for her last vet trip.
I wish there was a little colored coded marker - like a pregnancy test - that would tell me what is the humane things to do. White, she's ok, Blue, she's miserable and it's time. But, no such luck. |
((HUGS)) You have a hard decision to make. I wish I could tell you what to do. Letting go of a family member is always hard...says the chick who has one of the shortest lived pets around.

My vet always told me "When it is time, there won't be any question in your mind. You will just know". Not to say that it is applicable to all situations but in my particular case, it turned out to be true.
Just go with what your heart tells you and you will do the right thing. I'm sorry you have to be faced with this decision though. One of the underlying things that keeps me from being a pet owner again is knowing that someday I will have to make that decision again. I know you will do the right thing, no matter what it happens to be, and it will be based solely on what is best for Lyra. She is a very lucky kitty to have such a thoughtful and compassionate owner and she knows it. We all know it. |
Oh yay! Give her some extra love (if that's possible)
