Crocs are horrid. Plastic shoes are the debil (I once almost started a wildfire because of plastic shoes.

A bit of humorous overstatement, I hope.

I earned a place on someone's ignore list (on another board) for saying that Croc's look like clown shoes. I have a pair I wear for gardening. I don't wear them out.

As much as I hate admitting this, I've actually learned how to dress from watching WNTW.

I'm a 25 year old straight male who a few years ago had no sense of style. My sister was watching WNTW one day, and it happened to feature a guy who made the same fashion mistakes as I did. I learned quite a bit that day. And, I guess I'm in the minority here, but I find the two hosts of the show to be quite hilarious. One thing you can say is that they have good chemistry.

And, Not Afraid, just in case you were curious, TLC airs old episodes every day at 12 Noon.

I have to admit, the Munchkin has croc's. Since we wear the same shoe size I've borrowed them a couple of times. They do look like clown shoes but they are kinda comfy.

I must be out of the loop because I didn't know about Crocs. Are they really.....plastic? Because I remember plastic shoes from the early 80s and all I can say is, well, nothing nice, so nothing at all. *but holds nose* Sorry!

I was thinking of getting some. Will I look like an idiot? I kindof like the idea of shoes I can rinse off with a hose.

Well, they are popular, but a lot of people like to argue that they're not stylish. And, frankly, they're not remotely stylish. (Thanks for pointing out the new flats though, BTD! I so want a pair!)

But, they are the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn, and my comfort is more important to me than someone's opinion of what's on my feet. (After all, walking all over the opinions isn't nearly as comfy. ;) )

I'm not into the zany colors, although I do have a "fun" flowered pair for the beach.

Oh, and another reason the WNTW hosts would cringe at me - I just bought new faded black jeans last night with zippered ankles, ala the 80's. I've missed those!! And, I'm wearing them right now. :D

Ah. Trendy v. stylish.

Comfort, eh? I promise not to get a clown color.

Alex 09-21-2006 03:45 PM

It is the shape that makes them clownish, now the color.

When I visited my mom the other month I found that at some point in the two years since I had last seen her she had converted entirely over to Crocs as her footwear of choice.

Sadly I spend the rest of the visit trying to do subtle senility checks.

They have a mary jane style, too. I think I like it.

I've never been one for those silly pointy toed shoes. I don't care what Stacy says about how great I'll look in jeans, I'm not wearing pointy toed high heels. Ever.

Your toes will thank you for that. Those shoes cause more damage....
