Oh, that's sad.

Holy cow! I saw more movies than someone!

Pirates 2
X-Men 3
Cars

I saw:
Cars - kind of a dud for Pixar, I thought. So busy it was nearly painful. And I just am NOT into cars. Ugh. Makes me split my infinitives, the subject does.
DaVinci Code - not as bad as I expected, and I thought the book (what I read of it) was wretchedly bad. Hanks phoned it in though.
Pan's Labyrinth - a perfect fairy tale, with all of the horror and beauty real fairy tales have always had. Franco's fascist Guardia Civil were not Nazis, but they certainly took a few pages from the handbook. That a fabulous world could arise in the mind...oops, nearly put a spoiler.

Okay, maybe I give the last one such high marks because I saw so few this year, but honestly I wanted to see so few this year...Only about five are left that ya'll have put that I'll see next year via rental.

This is how I felt for the first half of the year or so. It's only towards the end of the year that movies came out that made me feel like hitting the theater, and then of course we didn't have the time.

Well, as usual, I expect to catch up on lots of movies during screener/awards season. My list of seen stuff looks like fluff, but most of the serious stuff comes out at the end of the year anyway. I certainly have a lot of recent stuff and weighty stuff to catch up on.

And I tend to go to theaters to see fluff. It has to have a "must see big" thing about it, or I'll just happily wait for Netflix nowadays. My rabid theater going era is long over. And - wow - there's only one film I saw in theaters twice this year (it was the James Bond movie, btw).

(Were "TransAmerica" and "Brokeback Mountain" really on that list? Saw both. Loved both.)
