I was farting around on Google Maps feeling a bit like a Chihuahua stalker when I decided I needed to check out the demo. I launched it and 2 seconds later I had a FREAKED OUT Golden Retriever next to me looking for the intruder. Scared the CRAP outta me.

Based on the where the coverage stops in San Francisco, Oakland, and Berkeley, it would seem that the Google driver(s) aren't eager to enter into the poorer parts of these cities.

To be fair, some of the more expensive areas in SF aren't covered either (Sea Cliff, Bernal Heights, Laurel Hill, Mt Davidson, etc), while one of the worst (the Tenderloin) is.

They street-viewed the highway by my house in Pacifica. not too interesting... but there's some good ocean views. Here's a view of the ONLY taco bell built on the sea shore. It's about a mile south of where I live.

Hey! I know where that is, my sister lives in Pacifica.

Pacifica is a beautiful place to live, as long as you don't live in a house that's balanced on the edge of a precipice.

Perle 06-03-2007 04:29 PM

True! and if you're not on a cliff, then you gotta watch for the occasional tsunami and sea level rising.
