Not the point here. Just making an observation it is mostly teenies and little girls who adore Miley. And even if they would buy out Disneyland wouldn't mean i'd go. I didn't even go to the fundraiser at the Edison. There....in fact it's the moments that i don't spend money on meeting someone that would mean more than spending it and meeting them. And for fact the best money i ever spent was for one concert where Jon held my hand and sang to me. There ...i'm done here...seems i get picked on for stupid ****.

Miley die.....

I just don't get how one decides whose fan obsession is worth spending money on and whose is not. I'm no more or less interested in either Miley Cyrus or Bon Jovi, but if that's what gets you excited and you get something that you feel is amazing for your money, who am I to say it's wrong?

Aw, don't be so hard on her. She's a spunky kid with fairly good pipes and a marketing monstrosity behind her. I'm sure she didn't buy out the park, actually - it would've been Disney who made the decision to use the park to make that extra cash (and give her fans the opportunity.) Her fans are as excited about her as other fans are excited about their idols.

Teeny-boppers aren't anything new, either. Rick Nelson? Leif Garrett? New Kids on the Block? Annette Funicello?

But times have changed. I do not like Miley and am getting tired of everyone saying she's so nice and sweet etc. She's just a regular human being and so what she buys out Disneyland to throw a party for herself Big deal.

She's not all that. I'm hopin in time she just looses it like so many others before her. I agree with Mark wish she'd just blow up.

What GD Said.

Did you know there are people who actually spend hundreds of dollars each year so that they can get into Disneyland whenever they want? And then they spend probably thousands of dollars on crap inside the park! It's just crazy!

Kevy Baby 10-07-2008 02:00 PM

I just did the math: 5,000 tickets x $250/ticket = $1,250,000. Not a bad take for the night.

LSPoorEeyorick 10-07-2008 02:01 PM

Wow, "Miley die"? That's pretty harsh.

mmg, I don't think you're stupid at all. But I do think that she's as important to her fans as Bon Jovi is to you, even if it doesn't seem like it should be the case.

Which is about what I've always guessed it would take to rent the park out (fully staffed) for an evening. So Miley gets a dream birthday, some of her fans get to share in the fun, Disney gets a few bucks off merchandising plus the general publicity benefit. Win win win.

Except for FP and DP who get to be woken up by fireworks.

Note: "Only about 5,000 tickets sold" because that's all there were available. I expect they could have sold out the entire park if enough tickets were up for grabs.

Also only a limited number of attractions were open.

I also expect that Miley, Inc. did not in fact "buy out the park". I would guess Disney paid Miley to appear. The event was a promotion for the "year of whatever in the hell it is this year" thing.

Moonliner 10-07-2008 02:15 PM

You know, I wonder, would that work?

You rent out the entire park for say $1.5 Million. You then sell 5,000 $325 tickets to an exclusive "Unlimited Fastpass for all attractions" night.
