I'm jealous, too. They Might be Giants are great.

Yea, I went to Disneyland. It was busy. It also seemed very anti-climatic today. I had a good time though! :)

Just got home from my day. Stage managed both plays in Angels in America, had a lovely dinner (lamb chops, mmm) between the two shows at the Eclectic Cafe with the entire cast. Went out to Sitton's (24 hour diner) afterwards and was served spoiled chicken. Returned it, was informed by the 800 year old waitress that there was nothing wrong with the chicken (she tasted it, ewww), and she still charged me for the salad (which I basically poked at)! Will never ever ever go back to this pit, this dump, this disgusting hole of a restaurant. I'm still trying to get the taste of spoiled meat out of my mouth. Feh on Sitton's.

I was laaaaaazy this year. I went Easter shopping on Saturday, and like baileykat, I usually spend like crazy for their baskets. This year? Notsomuch. Easter was just too early and we had no plans to stay with grandparents, so we kept it low-key.

Courtney got a Caboodles box as her basket and I filled it with nail polish, remover, loofahs, clippers, and other fun big girl stuff, plus candy (Target, I love thee). Cassidy got a butterfly net as her basket and I filled it with bug-catching stuff and candy. Chloe got an Olivia pail as her basket (she is Olivia) and Sleeping Beauty magnet/paper dolls, bubbles, play-dough and candy.

The Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy had their annual collision and left money and candy all over the house once again. The kids save their teeth for months and will only leave them out the night before Easter (unless they need cash for something specific) so that the Easter Bunny and Tooth Fairy come the same night. It happened once when I was little, so Courtney's been orchestrating this annual event since I told her about it when she was six.

We ate a late lunch downtown at the Governor Hotel with my sister and her fiance. Jake's Catering does this gorgeous cold seafood buffet in the Heritage Ballroom that is fantastic. We stayed for hours, chatted and drank mimosas, ate waaaay too much chocolate truffle cheescake, drank too much coffee, ate too many shrimp, too much prime rib......it was the best Easter in SUCH a long time!! I'm not sure you could drag me to family reunion-type Easters ever again!!!

I spent the day before Easter with a 103 fever. I spent the night before Easter puking my guts out and feeling like I was in the arctic winter. I spent Easter alone, as I didn't wan to infect anyone at church or my wife's family later at the get together later on that day. I went in and out of consciousness while watching the NCAA tourney games, and spent last night either freezing, sweating, or puking.

I am doing a bit better this morning.

Mmmm Jakes and the Governor Hotel - My company put me up there when we were dealing with PGE in it's pre-Enron days. Nice place, and one of the best seafood dinners I've ever had. I'd definately go back there next time I'm in Portland.

Dude, TMBG! Awesomeness! :snap:

The only drawback to the TMBG show was the overwhelming diaper smell (it was a kids show). I videoed the show, and the first thing they say when they get on stage is "nice smell".

Some very fascinating stuff on Easter lore is also on this webpage at Hallmark where I got the above.

Happy Easter everybody! I spent it lowkey as I just needed to have some personal "me" time.
