This is Bill, John's partner. Two chants/signs we came up with are:

Well, you know it's a Simpsons reference, right? But I don't know where it came from. I said to iSm at the protest that I wanted to carry a sign that said 'Ban Itchy & Scratchy'. It would be fun to see people laugh at it. I have a habit of getting too serious sometimes so I have to laugh at myself or whatever I'm dealing with from time to time.

Besides, Itchy demonstrates time and time again cruelty to the feline population. As a mouse, he should oppose the idea of persecuting others for mice and rats are the target of many humans trying to rid the world 'of his kind'.

Yesterday I liked the "But I Only Want To Marry ONE Woman!", but that works better at the MORMON Church, as did "Get Your Magic Underwear Out Of My Civil Rights"

You can marry multiple people and I can't marry one?

Though I think I'm going with one of these:

Separate is not equal
Protect all families
Repeal legalized discrimination
Who is going to stand up for you when they come for YOUR rights?

Personally, I think that the ones referencing polygamy will have a greatly diminished effect. While yes, there are some in the church (mainly separatist sects) who DO still believe in polygamy, the LDS church officially is against it. IMO, it makes one appear less edumucated.

Just my $0.02 on the topic

(but don't get me wrong: I still think the signs are funny :)).

And we wouldn't want LDS to think the irony of their stance on traditional marriage is lost on us. :D
