If any of us did Brian, that would be a pretty poor reflection on any of us. It's a free country, we can express our political thoughts without being shot (especially now that Dick Cheney is on his way out the door  ) ;)

What? They're releasing Cheney into the wild??? Run for your lives!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Brian, don't worry about it. We may not agree with you but that doesn't invalidate your opinion.

Brian, I'm sorry for my initial response. Don't be shy about expressing your opinions around here, especially if they go against the supposed grain. It would be an awfully dull place otherwise.

I never knew Huckabee had a Fox interview show on the weekends. I was surprised. I pricked up my ears because the subject was Gay Marriage, and the most vile, disgusting things were said. It's a very sore spot with me right now, so mention of your meeting with him triggered a very pained and lousy reaction on my part, which I regret (that's iSm Reget No. 4,662, if you're keeping track).

The story of your meeting with your political idol is really rather excellent and I'm so happy for you that it happened.

Wow, I'm so happy that you had such a wonderful experience! I bet you were on Cloud 9 the whole time. Glad you were able to get some pictures, as well.

I'm just catching up on this today. What an awesome experience! :snap:

I completely understand the emotions involved. It's okay. I'd be lying if I said my feelings were not hurt a little but I have to be understanding of other people's feelings too so it's okay. I'm not King of the world and it surely doesn't revolve around me.

I just wish we could all find common ground. I've seen things from both sides of this issue that have disturbed me. The swastikas on the signs I have seen posted from the No protests made me want to puke (as someone who would have been persecuted under Hitler because the disabled were treated the same as Gays and the Jews were) and the those Jerks who made the protest over Disneyland make me want to shoot down their plane I just wish people would not fight over something that is just so petty compared to poverty or AIDS, or any other life-or-death issue.

I may be a Christian Conservative but I am highly compassionate(but some of you knew that). but now I am just rambling so I probably should stop before I make any less sense and my point is lost.

Huckabee was on The View today

Speaking of conservative backbone, it strikes me he's gained back a good chunk of the weight he lost.

That is a very good point. I have noticed that too.
