This just amused me....

Larry King: "Are you surprised that President Bush had no pardons (in his last few days in office)?"

will.i.am: "No. I think that President Bush is the most relieved president in the history of American politics to leave office, and that he had gotten to a place where he was really looking forward to getting on that helicopter, sitting with Laura, popping a bottle of grape juice and flying off into the sunset. "

Ariana Huffington: "Not as much as the American people were to see him on that helicopter."

Is it me or does will.i.am's answer have nothing to do with the question?

Absolutely nothing.

eta: Well, I guess the "No." part did.

I'm surprised that everyone is so happy. Thousands of comedians, pundits, talking heads, hippies and their ilk no longer have someone to vilify. Think of all those out-of-work joke writers! Who are they going to blame every little trivial thing on now! Who are they going to spout off about and fling poo at?

(Full disclosure: I stopped supporting and believing in Bush years ago and was very happy to welcome Mr. Obama today. Just making a snarky point. Carry on.)

Eh. I figure it'll take years to undo all of Bush's damage; plenty of years of really good bitching left.

Somehow comedians found ways to make fun of pretty much every president we've had. I believe George Washington once kicked Jackie Mason out of his New York condo after an ill considered joke.

I'm sure the comedians and vilifiers will find something to do within their chosen professions.

Speaking of the Steam song "Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye"... I could have sworn I heard people on the Mall singing it at the inauguration when Bush was introduced and as his helicopter flew off. But it could have been just in my head.
