Great game. Two years in a row. Not bad.

Re the halftime show: when did Norm Crosby start impersonating Bruce Springsteen?

Was at the biggest Super Bowl party held in a private home I'm ever been. Kind of an odd experience for most of the game but made for huge crowd vibe in the last few minutes.

Now to just find out why people seem to think that I'll appreciate if they get drunk and then start letting out the racial slurs (it was just one person who I just avoided for the rest of the night, it isn't like I found myself in the middle of a klan party).

I enjpyed the game, but I was really wanting to see some great commercials. Overall, I am pretty disappointed. I loved the first Dorritos commercial, and the Bud one with the horse & dog playing fetch. Those were the only ones that got my attention.

I'm pretty sure it was lip synced. That's pretty common, really, and I get it. Singing in a HUGE open arena with reverb, etc, is exceptionally difficult and it is not uncommon to have it prerecorded. Though I don't know for sure.

Good entertaining game. The only commercial I really liked was the Troy Palumalu (or however the heck you spell his name - the safety from Pittsburgh) and the take off on the Mean Joe Green Coke commercial ("Hey Kid - Catch"). That was amusing.

I think in general that ad agencies are trying too hard to be clever and over think it.

2-bet parlay:

Cardinals to win (+200) - LOSER BET
Over 46.5 total points scored - WINNING BET

$50 to win $235 (4.7:1)

Prop bets:

I don't usually mess with Super Bowl prop bets but two caught my eye this year.

Anquan Boldin...MVP (15-1) - LOSER BET

MVP thanks:

sportsbook.com is giving odds on who the MVP will thank first during his post-game interview. Check out this lead-pipe cinch:

God -125 (bet $125, win $100) - LOSER BET

Sweet fvcking Moses! Martha, I need $100,000 to put on God. Seriously, is there any chance the MVP doesn't thank God first? Nope. And if Kurt Warner wins it, Oh Lord! Bet the farm on this one, people. You'll thank me later.

I hope you never found that $100,000.

SacTown Chronic 02-02-2009 08:32 AM

Never found the $100k. All I bet was $50 on the Cards/over and $5 on Boldin for MVP

I assume they void the play and refund all bets.

Ghoulish Delight 02-02-2009 09:37 AM

I'm not going to be able to recall any of them right now, but I did enjoy a good handful of commercials.

F*ck knbc for those 2 WAY TOO LOUD 10 second spots for something or other after the game. WTF was that?

BDBopper 02-02-2009 10:07 AM

What were the odds that the NFC Team won the coin toss? It's now happened twelve years in a row. I wonder what I would have won if I had slapped down ten bucks on it before it happened?

Alex 02-02-2009 10:39 AM

The real odds? 50/50.

The bookmaker odds, possibly something significantly different but only in reflection of irrational gamblers.
