Lance was definitely hoping you'd come- he's rather fond of your cooking, it turns out... :)

Where exactly on the 37 acres are you going to be?

There are barbeques and tables not far from the playground. There's parking near a large flat grassy area, if you go down to the right from the parking, you'll see the barbeque's. PM me, and I'll give out my cell phone in case anyone needs assistance finding us!

I'm gonna try try try. I'm no less than quaduple-booked on Saturday, but my happiness at your jobiness reprive makes me want to celebrate with you and Lance tremendously.

Should be on my way soonish :)

Well, I sure am sorry I bailed early. Never made it anywhere near my next destination in time.

Pleasant picnic park hijnks tho. Wish I would have had an internal reality check on L.A. traffic and just stayed where I was with friends.

Sigh.

What a hidden jewel that park is! Like our own little bit of Griffith Park. (Minus the animal cages and plus awesome pig-size rotisserie pit).

And there were land sleds!!! I want one of those things so bad, those kids sledding the amphitheatre (or whatever you'd call that grassy bowl area) made me so jealous!

Shawn got a closer look at the sleds while walking the dog, and he said they definitely had wheels.

Thanks for throwing a great party!I'm glad we came down.

Happy birthday Lance!

I got a couple pictures, mostly of that pair of frolicking butterflies:

And here's Birthday Boy with the candles of doom

The picnic area of the park (you can just barely see the grass bowl behind the trees where they were using the land sleds (I know they're wheeled, but they still worked like sleds so I'm calling 'em sleds)

Oh, and if you like the butterflies, here's a few seconds of video
