It is my understanding, however, that he did bring a whole lot of good and much needed attention to the park, right? Mostly positive? |
How about Rosey Grier - has he resigned yet?

Ed who?
Who is this Ed fellow of which you speak?? ;) |

I really don't know how involved he was in the process of these changes but still, I'm not going to kiss his feet and say how great he was if some serious things went wrong while he was there. |
I had heard of that possibility before (about Pirates) and wondered if it was a directive from higher up the food chain to put Johnny in there.

In my Happy Place, POTC is going to be quietly de-Depped and restored for its 50th anniversary.

I know I am in the minority on this, but I actually really like the first Johnny, kinda like the second one, but think the third one has to go.
Although the third Johnny is better than the constipated pirate that used to be there. |
The Johnnys are tolerable, even the third one (honestly, it's not much worse than the "crapping my pants pirate" of the last iteration). To me the big travesties of the movie overlay is the cheeseball music, the ruination of the tunnel (great technical effect with the waterfall, awful creative decision with Davy Jones and nixing of the iconic haunting spiel), and Barbosa with his horribly written and even more horribly delivered, "Bring me Jack Sparrow" spiel.
