They're always best when they're new and still nice and tight. Give it a few years and a few thousand rides and that sucker'll loosen up till it rattles like Ghostrider.

Thanks for the nice words about my kid, all (except for you, Alex). It's appreciated.

She's going to Paris on her own for three days, then on a train to Dijon for summer school. She will be writing about her adventures for her college newspaper. And she's excited to see the Madame Vionnet exhibit at the Musée de la Mode et du Textile.

Remind you of anyone you might know?

Hmm, let me think. Its not that guy who works at the deli, is it? Probably not. I am going to need some time on this one. No one tell me.

Of course, I had to put in the requisite long day (12 hours in this case) before vacation. And I am sure I will get calls tomorrow.

But I'm on vacation!

So not fair!

Ah, cool. Best as I could tell from that site, the exhibit is on a designer who got her start in the post-corseted period following WWI? Should be interesting to see how clothing progressed into shorter skirts, went from feminine to boyish and back to feminine silhouettes, etc. I hope she enjoys the exhibit!

Madame Vionnet introduced the bias cut where the fabric is cut on an angle so that the finished garment clings and moves with the body. Jean Harlow owes her a lot.

The upside of sitting in the waiting room while J is getting an ERCP: I get to see him all weird and loopy.

That's what I type in to the address bar at least 50% of the time.
Lounge of Tomottow... kinda sounds like Lounge of Tomato or the stuck up way to pronounce tomato... tomahto.

Who knew Harlow could do such a spot on C-3PO! But then that is why she made the big money.
