Another Pitchmen watcher here, and I feel real sadness for his family.

I guess God needed a pitchman. You can count me in as a closet pitchmen watcher.

I see many possible reasons: This was a personal trip, the "jet" is just puffery for show and not really used regularly, Sully was using it, etc....

And more than likely they charter the plane for business, I doubt they actually bought it, it's just not a particularly cost effective option.

I semi enjoyed the couple episodes I saw but I pretty much treated it like an infomercial for infomercials. As such I just kind of assume that the "personal" stuff shown is just as likely to be a performance as not.

True, and a lot of the "fights" were obviously staged. Even so, his son was working side by side with them on nearly every product shoot. There was an episode where they visited Billy Mays' father and showed one of his (kinda wacky) product ideas. The crappy show wasn't able to hide the fact that this family is pretty closely knit, and that they all worked together.

I have no idea who this person is, but reading about the plane incident makes me think of Natasha Richardson.

And then there is Billy's final tweet:

Of course not !!! He's a Celebrity, therefore his death must be related to any or all of the prescription drugs he was on at the time of death. I call for an autopsy to see if he was on pain killers. Or sleeping tablets. It must be that, cos it can't possibly be natural causes. Who can we blame if it's natural causes ?!?! There's no-one for the family to sue if it's only natural causes.

sorry, just tired of all the media hype over the MJ painkiller thing. Maybe we're getting more of it than the USA, but boy, are they really pushing that bandwagon or what?

scaeagles 06-28-2009 07:00 PM

There is no way you are getting more of it than in the USA. It's freakin' EVERYWHERE and non stop.
