I didn't buy ice or batteries, I have both. I did buy food. Of course it's perishable so if the power goes out I'm screwed. Shiny is on the charger but if the power goes I'll lose the wifi.

Soooo..... did anyone else see this on the news page of IMDB?

Lohan Slams Bad Birthday Behavior Reports

Hollywood actress Lindsay Lohan has hit back over claims she was rude to staff at her private birthday bash at Disneyland in California earlier this month. One blogger on Miceage.com, a website dedicated to the Anaheim theme park writes, "Between the rude behavior and the snotty attitude the entire party displayed, there were very few Lindsay Lohan fans working at Disneyland by the end of that night." But a spokesperson for the Mean Girls star - who was celebrating her 20th birthday - slams the accusations. The spokesperson says: "Lindsay was very happy that Disney let her have her birthday there. She had the best time. The rest of the story was complete bull."
So who said it?

Thank the deregulation/reregulation politics on that one - price of electricity needs to go much higher before anyone wants to plunk down a half billion for even a natural gas facility - but don't worry, eventually competition will lower the prices in the long run .

We left SF just at the first fog in days was rolling in. DAMN! It was heinously hot up there and it's the same here. WTF?

I'm sorry we're not doing much to helpt the blaco out situation at the moment. The AC unit is on as well as all of the fans. Poor melted cats!

wendybeth 07-24-2006 11:54 PM

It's still hotter than hell in our house, but then I'm running around cleaning so some of it may be from exertion. We have very big house that cools downstairs wonderfully but rarely achieves the target temp upstairs, in winter or summer. Next time they ask us to conserve, I'll turn off everything but the air conditioner.

Mousey Girl 07-25-2006 01:36 AM

It is 1:30am and I am doing laundry, not because of the threats of blackouts, but because it is too freakin' hot in the garage to do it during the day!!

How well is your attic insulated? I just added a bunch of extra insulation and it made a big difference. The upstairs/downstairs temps are much closer. It was easy to do and didn't cost too much.

wendybeth 07-25-2006 09:23 AM

DPR- Our attic is only over the garage part of the house, so I don't think that would be of help. (But ty!) I have always thought that perhaps it was because of the fact that nearly every air outlet has an animal draped across it. We were told that we should have two conditioners, but I already pay the utility company too much money as it is.

JWBear 07-25-2006 01:49 PM

The AC is out at my work today. After lunch, I said "F*** this" (quietly, to myself - don't need to get fired) and came home. It's much cooler here, and I can play on my new pretty shiny.
