Yes, Jick posted the (lengthy) story. Bottom line is it looks like the damaged database will mostly hurt Ascenders. It might even be back up late tonight!! If you can at least check the forums, here's his story.

Looks like we're SOL until tomorrow night. How will we survive yet another day? The good thing is, that we're all fairly new to the game, and therefore have not lost anything in this mess.
