This whole thing is just like an earthquake.

Fawcett was the foreshock
MJ was the big one
Mays, Storm, and Travelena are the aftershocks - dwindleing in significance as time passes...

Then again... Maybe I just didn't get enough sleep last night.

Here is a very long article by Ian Halperin of the London Daily Mail. I don't know this person or his credentials, but he sounds like he had a good connection to MJ and what he says is pretty damning.

A star on the Walk-of-Fame I would not have guessed. Fred, we hardly knew ye.

Aw! I remember Fred! We was a really cool guy! Nice too. :(

Then again, I grew up in Vegas.

Speaking of the Walk of Fame...

When Ringo Starr gets his star in 2010, that will leave Paul McCartney as the only Beatle without a star as a solo artist. How the hell did Ringo get one before Paul?!?

He (or someone involved in something he was promoting) was willing to pay for it.

Step 1 of getting a star on the Walk of Fame is asking for it. Step 2 is being selected from those "nominated." Step 3 is giving them $25,000.

If you want to fill this gap you can submit an application on behalf of McCartney (though you'll need to include a letter of consent from him with the application). You and he will need to agree who is paying the 25k. If McCartney doesn't care to get one, and no PR person has convinced him to do it anyway, he'll never get one.

I'm still trying to figure out why I know Fred Travalena. As soon as I saw the name I even had a face to go with it. My best guess is that it's because he was on Hollywood Squares in the 80's.

Hmm, imdb says he impersonated Michael Jackson at the 1992 MTV VMAs.

Fred Travalena on the Merv Griffin Show

CNN is saying that there will be a public viewing of MJ sometime this weekend at Neverland Ranch.

That should cause quite the traffic jam.
