So, I just got the call. I've been cast in a show at Manoa Valley Theatre called "Once Upon One Time". It's sort of a local take on "Into the Woods". I'm playing one of the 7 dwarfs (menehunes in this show) called Wen. (The menehunes are: Who, What, Wen, Wea, Why, How Come and Lolo.) It's a kids show that's mostly slapstick, which I adore. I have to WD40 my pidgin accent for the next 3 months or so.
:)

So, this latest show is fun. But I gotta say, I'm kinda bored. All the parts are pretty even, so with 24 in the cast there's not a lot of stage time for anyone really. But it's an ensemble piece and it's cool. I would love to jump into a meatier role very soon.

How about a one-man show?

I ask you, how can one little kids theatre show have so much backstage drama? I mean, really? No, I'm not surprised but it's annoying how much the backstage drama is seemingly integral to the whole theatre thing....

Oy freakin vey!

Would it even be a show without it?

True.
Guy s&Dolls went up at another theatre (without me) and I heard the backstage doings were much more entertaining than the show itself... (which wasn't great). So glad I got into this one instead of that one...

I'm thinking of auditioning for "A Christmas Carol" by Doris Baizley. It's a different take on the traditional story. I hear it's hysterical. Thinking thinking thinking. I love working for the director that's in charge of this production. Hmmmm....
