We came home to the best message ever on our answering machine.

This past Saturday was my niece's 1st birthday. Being the most awesome aunt and uncle in the world, we bought her a Winnie the Pooh ride on car thing. It's awesome, it's got buttons with different shapes, Pooh says the name of the shape and the name of the character that pops up. It's got a light spinner on the front. I want it.

Yesterday, our answering machine was flashing. It took a second to decipher what we were hearing, but finally we realized it was the following:

[Pooh] Circle Circle Circle Circle Circle [squeal of baby delight] Circle Circle Circle Circle Circle Circle Circle Circle Circle....Circle. I wonder who's hiding under the circle. [/pooh]

 My sister hates me, but my niece loves me.

We were the ones who gave all of our nieces and nephews noisy toys, but when we had Tori karma came back to bite us in the ass. Many times I would tiptoe through the living room late at night, only to trip on a toy and set off an audio/visual assault that would awaken the whole house.

The funny thing was, we picked the Pooh one because it seemed the least annoying. My sister loves Winnie the Pooh, and as repetitive cartoon voices go, Pooh's is about the least grating I can think of.

Leave it to genius baby to figure out that repeatedly pushing the same button makes it extra annoying :)

ETA: Haha, my brother in law, who left the message just emailed. "You're just lucky I didn't have another hour to kill."

Hey, the best part of being an uncle is the opportunity to torment your siblings with annoying toys!

Absolutely. Legos and other toys with lot's of pieces. And one of my favorites - finger paint!

ZooLights!

The zoo has been closed due to the weather since Saturday noon. I've been stuck at home - well not at home exactly, but not at work. With time on my hands I thought I'd share a few more pictures I got since the snow fell:

I'm actually missing going to work!

Nice Pictures!

Great looking zoo, too!

I'm DONE with all of the hard gift work. There are 2 more left to purchase, but they're already selected I just need to get to the stores after work. And there's one that needs to be assembled. Otherwise, just wrapping left to do.

Phew!

I did all of my holiday shopping yesterday morning between 8:30 am and 9:30 pm.

Had to buy a train ticket, rent a car, and book a hotel room.

It was an exhausting holiday shopping season.
