So....including today, I have 7 work days left in my current job. I'm working lots of extra time to get something done for them prior to my departure, but officially 7 work days.
They have had some rather complex government billing programs from me, tested and delivered 8 months ago, that they have never bothered to review or even install. OK....that's the life of IT and contracting. No skin off my nose. I got paid whether they use it or not.
However, with my imminent departure, they decide to review it and came up with a couple of problems and a few revisions they want (I don't believe are problems are actually problems, but that's another story). What am I to do? I'm already working 12-13 hours/day on this other project.
I am in the position to have very little tolerance with them. I told them they've had a long time to review it, decide to do it with my departure right around the corner, and I'll get to their concerns when I get to them.
If they give me grief, my limited support rate/hour is going to double. I let their IT manager know this and he is quite displeased with their accounting department.
