So, my back seemed in really good shape this weekend. A full morning of condo shopping, with plenty of getting in and out of the car, followed by several hours of sitting for the cemetery screening, and I didn't feel a thing. Even the next day, I was perfectly fine. But this morning, I've been definitely stiff. Nothing horrible, but I know it's there.
Since I cut the drugs out within a couple days, I've got plenty left and happened to still have the Soma in my man bag. I figured there was no sense in being in pain all day if I didn't have to. Well, in the week and a half since I last took it, it seems the bit of tolerance I had has evaporated. Plus, my breakfast was a donut and tea. Work's gonna be fun today. Of course, I think I'm going to be walking to lunch. Ikea, here I come! |

She's adorable. |
I just scored 2 Snickers for the price of one from our vending machine. :snap: As I stared indecisively at the selection in front of me, it suddenly noticed the advantageous positioning of the treat that satisfies. Decision made. And sure enough, I was treated to the satisfying sound of 2 candy bars falling.
This finally makes up for the time the machine refused to relenquish a bag of peanut M&M's. |
It's the small victories that make life truly worthwhile.

Thanks for the complements everyone! No Chicago shirt yet, but the day will come, I promise you! ;) She's just amazing. The day she and I met was last Sunday and I picked up her and her mom (my niece) at the airport. It was such a moment I can't even begin to discribe it but I walked up behind them at the claim area and the baby was looking all around with big bright blue eyes, just taking in everything. Her mouth was open and she was drooling. She moved her head around and then suddenly looked up at me and gave me a HUGE smile and "coo'ed." It was so awesome. I don't know how I'll handle her going back home on Sunday, but I'll get thru it I guess. |

We had a vending machine at our hotel that gave me four bottles of water for the $1.75 I put in. I didn't complain.
