I am up and ready to go...almost, still have to put on pants and get Boy up and dressed. I told mom we would pick her up at 5  .

We need to be out of here at 430 to get gas and drinks and then get to her house. Bakersfield is so spread out. I am in the "southwest" and she is in the "northwest." It takes me a good 15 minutes to get to her house.

She said something amusing last night. She has been twice with us, once with David and once without. She enjoys herself more without him. She said that when it is just me & Nick we are more laidback and just enjoy being at the park, no rushing around.

Oooh...there goes Boy's alarm clock, and I just heard a thud as he hit the wall!!!

katiesue and scaeagles,
Panda Express Orange Chicken is crack. Just say no. I used to be addicted to that stuff. And then I tried to get myself off of it. It wasn't pretty. I went to other Chinese Food Court places and tried their Panda-esque Orange Chicken... not good. Then I tried to freebase it at home, it tasted like feet. Not good.
Just say no. Run away!
:D

Took the little pirates to Knotts yesterday evening. There are still remnants of the old Knotts I remember. They loved the log ride and the mine train, ghost town, and Sad Eyed Joe. There's still a little Knotts magic left, hiding under the roller coasters, if you know where to look..

Concerning Orange Chicken...

Trader Joe's sells a frozen orange chicken that is very easy to make and delicious. You just empty the bag onto a cookie sheet, throw it in the oven for a bit, then mix it with the sauce packet and viola, orange chicken. I usually add some chopped scallions and sesame seeds to the mix.

It's far cheaper and much better than Panda Express, IMO.

*wishing there was a Trader Joes out here* :(

Thanks MBC will have to try that. But of course that would require actual work, Panda Express is conveniently located inside my Vons. And I must admit I'm also rather fond of their chow mein.
