When next you come to the west coast, hop on down. I'll take you to the Hillcrest TJ's.

its crowded but has tons of eye candy.
Or you can go to the one by my house. Less eye candy, but tons of nice folk.

Yeah, don't mind me. It's just me and my crankiness. It also doesn't help that I usually get dragged to TJ's by Ralphie right before dinner. Not only am I hungry but it's usually crowded. Once I went into a tirade about why anyone would want a huge broken brick of Ghiradelli's chocolate.

I also don't know which lecture I prefer: The lecture I get about killing trees when I say 'paper' or the lecture I get about how plastic doesn't break down for thousands of years in our landfills when I say 'plastic'. :D

But... I like eye candy!

The cashiers in Monterey were dirty. Dirty fingernails touching my green soy enchiladas stuffed with free range chicken meat and cheese made from Mongolian yak milk... :D

And Hillcrest being one of San Diego's concentrated gay male populated areas, I do mean eye candy.

The TJ's on Bellflower in Long Beach is very nice too!

Hmmm... I may have to rethink my TJ stance...

:D

Another good item from TJs is a flank steak wrapped around bleu cheese. Good schtuff!

We've been into Costco prepared stuff lately. Over the weekend, we bought two $13 meals - meatloaf and mashed potatoes, and chicken alfredo. Gave us dinner on Sunday with an "encore presentation" on Monday, and then dinner on Tuesday with an encore presentation last night. Simply, yet tasty. Throw in a fruit salad or a veggie and we had 4 dinners for a family of 5 for under $30 total. Not too bad.
