Precisely what I was thinking. :)

For 30 cents an hour. And he's board, so he counts them.

I love when I find things like that also! And that one is pretty funny!

I also get a kick out of poorly translated instructions. Like this one:

"Drive with screw before hol is to." WTF is that? I had a whole page of this cabinet I had to reverse engineer to put together!

And I saw a sign at a Hong Kong airport that was translated badly in into English, and said this:

"We will be glad to send your luggage in all directions"

Well, I feel sooo much better now!

Would somebody please come to my office and remove the gigantic can of delicious jumbo cashews from my desk? It's already 1/3 empty.

Thanking you in advance,
Lizziebith's Dinner Appetite

€uro, are you reading this?

I got that too this morning and where I almost always delete these emails, I couldn't bring myself to do this one in. the $300 is still a bit steep for me - but damn how cools is that? I haven't a clue what I'd do with it, but if I had it, I'd certainly find a prominent place to put it so I could gaze upon it indulging my Captain Nemo Fantasies. No dubt I would also feel the need to flee to my island refuge, which right now seems to be somewhere in Tokyo Bay.

Little Todd's teacher called today (4 days before he goes back to school) to tell us she is retiring, getting married, and moving north somewhere to work on a global warming project. Details are sketchy because Crystal didn't really digest anything beyond "retiring". The retirement, marriage, and career change are somewhat sudden. She hasn't known her fiance very long but she says they are in love and know what they are doing. I dig that crazy love, man.

This crazy hippie lady has had our children in her class for a total of 6 years and Todd for the last two. She was moving up to teach a 4th, 5th, and 6th grade class and Todd was going to be her student for another three years. Imagine five consecutive years with the same teacher in a public school. That dream dies today and we'll miss her.

Fortunately for us, our first choice to be Todd's teacher made room for him in her class within 2 hours of getting a phone call from a very stressed-out Crystal. So there's that. She's a good teacher and I know Todd will continue to excel. I just have to keep that in mind.

YAY for Todd! He's such a great kid!

SacTown Chronic 08-17-2006 10:04 PM

Yeah, he is. Thanks NA.

We won't find out whose class Nickolas will be in until the first morning of school.

Ice cream cake for breakfast is just not a good idea...
