Can't you protect your recordings? I've found that is a great tool for keeping the kid from erasing my shows.

Not that I know of, but I don't know that I've ever looked for that feature. The only thing I know of is I can "preserve" an episode, but that just ensures that, if I have it set to keep 2 episodes, the specific episode I choose to "preserve" doesn't get kicked out once a 3rd episode records.

Thanks for the invite, CP! I wish gas wasn't so hideous.

Gas to Hollywood for you isn't hideous at all. Come watch with us.

This is what is in the sequence after AL tells Eko he needs to help John (at the begnining of the show):

A body (appears to be a white male) in the water
A cross necklace (his brothers?) on the ground
Legs running through the jungle (appear to be black)
The teddybear on a string
Fire in a fire pit
Someone (Jinn?) blindfolded
Virgin Mary statues at the church
The plane on fire with [I think] Eko and Charlie watching it
Ekos brother
Dharma Logo with the arrow
A bible
Ekos stick with the bible quotes on it
His brothers burned body (just the head and teeth)
Locke [the look on his face is similar to when he was looking at the map on the blast doors]

I went to re-watch that scene to see what else I missed and my TiVo hit a bunch of other scenes: Pulling bodies out of the water, the monster, the plane scene where his brother gets on the drug plane and the army comes. I know I missed more.

Our Tivo now has a feature that allows you to undelete things you have recently deleted. Very handy. Just appeared there one day after an update.

I finished Bad Twin which was a passable book but has very little to do with the show. They fly Oceanic from LA to Sydney and back again, and they reference Hanso, but that's about it.

Here's the best part - the detective ends up at the Hanso Foundation offices by mistake and reads this plaque:
Quote:

The Hanso Foundation stands at the vanguard of social and scientific research for the advancement of the human race. For forty years, the foundation has offered grants to worthy experiments designed to further the evolution ofhte human race and provide technological solutions to the most pressing problems of our time. The Hanso Foundation: a commitment to encouraging excellence in science and technology and furthering the cause of human development.
Fun stuff, eh?

Reminder....last episode prior to the finale next week airs tonight.

Gn2Dlnd - how's the DVR situation? Or are you just going to watch it on your computer?

Gn2Dlnd 05-17-2006 10:23 AM

The Tivo seems to be working ok - but it's good to have the streaming video as a backup. Did anyone else check it out? It's very nicely done.

I might have discovered a bug in the Tivo, I'm not sure yet. I tend to leave the Tivo paused on whatever I'm watching, so I don't have to search through menus and possibly get sidetracked by a new Simpsons episode. Since I've stopped leaving it on pause, I haven't seen the problem. I guess I'll know for sure, when I get home from the Park tonight.

Thanks for asking.

Not my favorite episode, but it was nice to see what was going on with Michael while he was gone. Walt seems to have confirmed what had been alluded to in the past - that the Others are acting to cover up what is really going on in the hatch that they are guarding.

Is Eko becoming the new Locke? Faith in the button?

I'll be curious to find out the origins of the boat and what Sayid comes up with to turn the tables on Michael.

And by the way....I could have sworn I saw Desmond in the Others camp.

Cadaverous Pallor 05-17-2006 10:43 PM

I was surprised they trotted out Walt. He's aged a LOT and I was sure they were going to continue the ruse of "you can't see him". (We saw the actor in a guest shot on My Name Is Earl a few weeks back.) Since they waited so long I guess people have sort of forgotten what he looks like, but still, he was freakin' tall in that scene.

Michael is an ass - I couldn't comprehend delivering up 4 people (much less 4 plus killing 2 myself) in order to save one person, no matter who that person is. Sorry GD! :p

Eko's "faith in the button" seems a little bizarre. Push it, dig it, sure, but sit in front of the monitor and don't attend the funerals, even though he's the resident priest? Remember, Libby was his comrade in Tailie arms and Ana Lucia was his Fearless Leader (though we all know he only follows his own path).
