I forget where you live P. If it is in the OC area, send me a PM: I would be happy to swing by and replace the outlet for you - it is quite simple (I've even done it successfully without turning off the power - but that wasn't a smart thing to do!).

So....my wife bought this small wire shelf unit to put on a table in her classroom. I go to assemble it for her this morning. Made in China. Love the assembly instructions. One line -

"Handle shelf assigned C into wide hole smooth front cavity for fastener facing not front."

OK. Fortunately it wasn't complex assembly, because every instructiuon was like that. Funny.

I live up in glorious Everett, WA, so that's likely not in the neighborhood. ;)

If you pay for the plane ticket, I'll come fix it.

But I believe you could hire a local electrician and save a buck or two.

Seriously; the overview that DPR posted pretty well covers it. This is a farily simple process and you should be able to do it easily. Only requires a standard straight-blade screwdriver and a few minutes of time (not counting drive time to the hardware store).

Hey, great knew avator, Leo! Is that Mr. Bill?

scaeagles 08-27-2006 06:45 AM

It bears a resemblance, but I don't think so.

How! Ralphie at bottom of ocean right now. Me heap happy. Me heap worried, too.
Him send email saying, "Hello from Atlantis."
Me proud of him. Ugh.
:)
