OK. Now that's awesome. Thanks, Bornieo!

You’ve probably heard of Fred Phelps and his Topeka Kansas Westboro Baptist Church. He and his followers have well-earned a reputation as the most notorious, tasteless bigots in America. They get their thrills by showing up in force at funerals to protest the lifestyle or the politics of the diseased. These un-American vultures prefer going to funerals of gay American servicemen who were killed in combat overseas. They also protest at the funerals of those who “tolerate” homosexuality. Just ask the family of the late Meet the Press host Tim Russert, who also committed the additional crime of being Catholic.

It turns out they don’t like comic book fans either.
Writer Kurt Busiek posted what would be the responce.

I totally think some people need to dress as the Jesus action figure or Buddy Christ.

They were talking battle plans for the counter protest on 4chan a week ago. Expect signs that say things like "The Joker hates everyone" and lots of people in Northstar, Batwoman and Question costumes.

Disneyphile 07-14-2010 10:44 PM

I also think it's a good time to raise money for non-profits that they hate.

I'm tempted to go down there, dressed as a pregnant Mary with Ken as Joseph, and take up a collection for Planned Parenthood.

Oh my god, people still use 4chan?

Morrigoon 07-14-2010 10:59 PM

Alex (my Alex) was suggesting Buddy Christ

Capt Jack 07-15-2010 08:17 AM

Go as a pregnant nun and a rabbi - that way you can piss everyone off.
