I found a CD the other day called 'Merry Mixmas' that's pretty good.
Also, 'Christmas Remixed 2' is cool, too.

Wow - last music post in December????

About time for more fun.

We did some post-Coachella buying the other day with great results.

Lady Tron - New
Massive Attack - New Collection
Daft Punk - New Collection
Gram Rabbit - New
Dresden Dolls - New
Niko Cast - Latest
She Wants Revenge
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah

We're still working our way through these but, so far, I'm LOVING the Ladytron CD. GREAT sounds. Sort of dancable, industrial, reminds me a bit of Ultravox in John Fox days with female vocals.

Gram Rabbit is so wonderful and I can't wait to become more familiar with their second album. It was great upon first listen.

Niko Case was a chance buy. But, we listened last night while reading in bed and I love the sound and feel of the album. There's a bit of a solid, old-style country flair but there's a lot more intensity and flavor. I really like it.

Daft Punk collection is a GREAT collection of some of their best music. It's a powerful CD meant to be played loud. But, NOTHING will match their spectacular performance at Coachella. But, if you are a fan, you MUST get this CD.

More later when we work through more CDs,

What Clap Your Hands Say Yeah album did you get?

Funny timing as I was just perusing iTunes and stumbled onto Richard Cheese. As I type this I am downloading The Sunny Side of the Moon - The Best of Richard Cheese.

Lounge versions of Baby Got Back, Rock the Casbah and Fight for Your Right (to Party) - classic!

I just bought Keane's Hopes and Fears. I love it.

I'm contemplating bying Luther Wright and the Wrongs - Rebuild the Wall.

Oooh! Hayseed Dixie and bluegrass covers of AC/DC and Kiss!

CoasterMatt 05-06-2006 08:49 PM

I love Hayseed Dixie - been mixing them and Hardcore Devo, along with the usual audio assault of The Egg, KISS, and Pink Floyd.

I can't believe it took Kevy Baby so long to discover Richard Cheese - you gotta hear his versions of 'Rape Me' and 'Holiday in Cambodia'. :D

OMG! Richard Cheese rocks! We *MUST* get "Aperirif for Destruction." "Phil Specter! Do something! (gun shot)"

I just about knocked the laptop off the table in a fit of laughter. That was hysterical!

They only have one - their self titled debut. It's good. Strains of Talking Heads.

There was a great interview with Richard Cheese on Coverville a few weeks ago. He totally went off on Paul Anka ripping him off on Rock Swings (which is also a great CD btw).

I'm currently enjoying a Pink Martini CD (Sympathique) which I had to have after hearing "Que Sera Sera" on Coverville (thank you again, Heidi, for recommending that podcast). And I'm slowly dipping into Volume 2 of the Capitol Beatles album re-releases in order to minimize the impact on my psyche of reliving my childhood.
